Slap a Western skin pack on GTAIV and you got Red Dead. Don't get me wrong, I have great memories enjoying this title but the standard Rock Star style held it back from being a standalone success. I found myself waundering off from the missions on numerous occassion. I found it over baring to keep track of so many aspects that I didn't feel like a cowboy while playing. The online portion is good fun, especially with the Zombie pack. The storyline was good (what I paid attention to, the ending was dramatic as shit). Good fun, could of been better, still a must have for the fans of the Western genre or GTA/sandbox.
Sorry, despoite all the 10/10 reviews, and enthusiasm about this game from virtually everyone I know, this just did not grab me at all. Played for around 5 hours, and decided to trade it while it still had a high value. Lots of people kept telling me "it gets really good when you get to Mexico", but I don;t believe in playing a dull game for hours just to get to a good bit.
