No, this is not a scam, it's more of a "thinking out loud" and a starting point for discussion.
When looking at other PS3 websites, I see a lot of people contributing walkthroughs, trophy guides and other valueable content for free. The owner of those websites earn money from this content by placing advertising on the page. They also have to pay the hosting costs, so that still might be a fair deal.
But what if a user actually could earn money from the content they provide? Here is the rough idea: PS3Heroes currently uses Google AdSense and Amazon's Affiliate program. I would like to share the revenue I make of that, by delivering your own AdSense- and Amazon Affiliate-codes!
When someone comes to PS3Heroes from an external site by clicking on you profile link and afterwards goe sto a game stite with Amazon Affiliate links, those should be yours. That way you could give away your profile link to friends and when they purchase something from Amazon, you get a comission from Amazon.
Also when you write a lot in the forums and thus drive traffic to the site, you should be rewarded for that by a cut: all users that are displayed on a topic page get a chance of 5 percent that their Google AdSense code is delivered instead of the one from PS3Heroes.
How does that sound? Totally idiotic, or do you think that might be something PS3 owners would like to try out?

Sounds like a pretty fantastic idea if you ask me. Why not, I really like the sound of it, plus it helps grow the site even further still.
