Wie Konami ankündigt, erhält Pro Evolution Soccer zum Verkaufsstart an diesem Donnerstag einen umfangreichen Patch, der zusätzliche Features bietet und vor allem einen der größten Kritikpunkte des Spiels beheben soll: Die - man kann es nicht anders sagen - dummen Torhüter.

PlayStation 3D display coming to Europe

Sony has confirmed that the 24" PlayStation-branded 3D TV announced at E3 this year is coming to Europe in the Autumn priced at €499. Speaking during the platform holder's Gamescom presentation today, Sony exec Jim Ryan stated that the set will offer an "accessible entry to 3D gaming".

So, jetzt gibt’s endlich mal ein halbwegs vernünftiges Video der PS3-Version von Child of Eden, gespielt mit PlayStation Move. Der Release hat sich ein wenig hingezogen – während die XBox Version schon im Juli erschien, darf man in den USA erst ab dem 27. September und in Europa am 30. des Monats loszocken. Dafür dann aber mit Stereoskop-3D und…ja… Move (anstatt kinekt… logischerweise).

Glasses-free stereoscopic 3D has "inherent limitations", Sony has said. Responding to complaints about having to wear glasses to view games and movies in stereoscopic 3D, the PlayStation 3 manufacturer explained why it's the best solution – and will be for a good while.

"There are already glasses-free TVs, big screens and small screens out there," Mick Hocking, Sony's 3D gaming boss, told Eurogamer at the Develop conference [...]

Sony werkelt an Splitscreen-Lösung ohne geteilten Bildschirm

Dieses neue 3D-Gaming bringt anscheinend einen Vorteil für Splitscreen-Spieler mit sich. Sony werkelt anscheinend an einer Lösung, wie man dank des Stereoscop-Videosignal einen Splitscreen-Modus auf die Beine stellen kann, ohne dass der Bildschirm hierfür “geteilt” werden muss.

Damit das auch funktioniert, benötigt man natürlich einen 3D-TV und für jeden Spieler eine Brille. Sollte man diese Idee tatsächlich umsetzen, wäre es in der Tat eine wünschenswerte Sache!

Sony steckt wohl viel Herzblut in die neue 3D-Welt. Mit kommenden Firmwareupdates für die PS3 im September wird man nicht nur 3D-Blu-rays™ abspielen dürfen und Ende des Jahres auch 3D-Fotos… …man plant auch den DVB-T Receiver PlayTV mit einem 3D-Update zu versorgen. So darf man dann auch 3D-Fernsehcontent genießen, sobald die Sender damit anfangen geeignete Inhalte auszustrahlen…

Watch Youtube in 3D Soon on Your PS3

Sony’s push for 3D entertainment on the PS3 doesn’t end with just games. Youtube’s jumping on the 3D bandwagon with plans to feature 3D videos soon. Mick Hocking, the man in charge of SCE Worldwide Studios’ 3D content, has confirmed that YouTube’s 3D videos will work on the PS3.
